TB-500: Peptide Profile

Sequence, molecular data, research status and testing standards for TB-500 — written for Canadian researchers.

What Is TB-500?

TB-500 is a synthetic peptide corresponding to the active region (amino acids 17–23) of thymosin beta-4, a naturally occurring actin-sequestering protein studied extensively in cell-culture and animal models.

What the Research Says About TB-500

Thymosin beta-4 and its fragments have been examined in cell-culture and animal models for their role in actin regulation, cell migration and tissue repair processes. TB-500 itself has very little human clinical data and is not authorized by Health Canada.

Peptide Authority summarizes published research for educational purposes only. Nothing here is medical advice or a claim that TB-500 is safe or effective for any use.

TB-500 Storage & Handling

Lyophilized (freeze-dried) TB-500 is most stable frozen at −20°C or colder for long-term storage, or refrigerated at 2–8°C for short periods. Keep vials sealed, dry and away from light, and allow them to reach room temperature before opening to prevent condensation.

What to Look for in a TB-500 Certificate of Analysis

  • HPLC purity of 98–99% or higher, shown as a chromatogram with one dominant peak
  • Mass spectrometry with an observed mass matching 889.0 g/mol
  • A lot number that matches the label on your vial
  • An independent, named laboratory and a recent test date

Is TB-500 Legal in Canada?

TB-500 is not authorized by Health Canada as a drug. It may only be sold in Canada as a research chemical for in-vitro laboratory use — not for human or animal consumption. Read how peptides are regulated in Canada.

FAQ

TB-500 FAQs

What is TB-500?

TB-500 is a synthetic peptide corresponding to the active region (amino acids 17–23) of thymosin beta-4, a naturally occurring actin-sequestering protein studied extensively in cell-culture and animal models. It is also known as Thymosin beta-4 fragment (17–23), Ac-LKKTETQ.

Is TB-500 legal in Canada?

TB-500 is not authorized by Health Canada as a drug, so it cannot legally be sold for human or animal use. In Canada it is sold as a research chemical for in-vitro laboratory use only. This is general information, not legal advice.

Where can I buy TB-500 in Canada?

Peptide Authority supplies HPLC-tested, lot-coded TB-500 for research use, now serving Edmonton with Canada-wide shipping coming soon. Wherever you buy, insist on a third-party COA that matches the lot number on your vial.

How should TB-500 be stored?

Store lyophilized TB-500 frozen at −20°C for long-term stability or refrigerated at 2–8°C short-term, protected from light and moisture.

Is TB-500 banned in sport?

Yes. TB-500 is on the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) Prohibited List: Prohibited — S2 (thymosin beta-4 and derivatives).
